Attorney Lynn Jinks has been practicing law for 47 years. His practice has concentrated on representing individuals and small businesses in court. He has offices in Montgomery and Union Springs; however, his practice is nationwide.

Lynn’s family has a long history of law-related activities. His great-grandfather practiced law in Bullock and Montgomery counties around the beginning of the 20th century. His grandfather served Bullock County as Probate Judge and later as Circuit Clerk, and his father practiced law in Alabama for over 50 years.

Upon his admission to practice law, Lynn began a clerkship for the Alabama Supreme Court, as a law clerk for the Honorable James Coleman. Following that, he went on to active duty in the United States Navy as Staff Judge Advocate for the Eighth Naval District. While on active duty he was the Admiralty Officer for the 8th Naval District, certified as a claims officer for the Navy, appointed a legal assistance officer, and was certified as both trial and defense counsel for special and general courts-martial. He is a graduate of the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island, and is licensed to practice before the Court of Military Appeals.

After completing his tour of active duty, Lynn returned to Alabama where he began his private law practice in 1978. He has successfully handled many multi-million dollar cases. He has extensive experience in almost every branch of civil litigation, including personal injury, wrongful death, medical and legal malpractice, other categories of professional malpractice, securities litigation, product liability, class action practice, complex litigation, probate litigation, will contests, business litigation, consumer fraud, life insurance litigation and litigation involving large estates. He has had a leadership role in several national class action matters, including those involving genetically modified rice, anti-trust litigation involving health insurers and medical providers, and anti-trust litigation in the trading of credit default swaps.

In addition to his representation of persons and small businesses, he has represented a number of municipalities, hospitals, and other medical providers, financial institutions, and insurance companies.

Mr. Jinks has been active in community affairs. He has been recognized for his outstanding community service by the Bullock County Voters League. He has served on the Board of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. He is currently serving on the Executive Committee and Board of the Alabama Partnership for Children (www.smartstartalabama.org), an organization that has received national recognition for its promotion of early childhood education. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Union Springs, Alabama, where he serves as church council chairperson.

He has been married for 49 years to Charlotte Vaughan Jinks.
